“MADE IN AFRICA – FOR AFRICA”
LEADERSHIP VS CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Leadership is regarded as the ability to rise to the challenge of change and to balance the requirements of diversity in order to realize the full potential of people, so that they might fulfill their life aspiration; and to promote a climate for self-actualization, whilst constantly striving to deliver the vision!
Good corporate governance is key to the integrity of corporations, financial institutions and markets (business) and (is) central to the health of our economies and their stability.
(OECD – Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development)
The preamble to the OECD Principles states that they “are evolutionary in nature and should be reviewed in light of significant changes in circumstances”. It is also recognizes that, “To remain competitive in a changing world, corporations must innovate and adapt their corporate governance practices so that they can meet new demands and grasp new opportunities”.
I will be chairing a three day conference on INTERNATIONAL CORPORATE GOVERNANCE, to be held here in Johannesburg, South Africa.
